Millennial breakfast clubs
✨From tkwa.me
Millennial breakfast clubs are societies whose members resume from dormancy for a shared one-hour breakfast every thousand calendar years. Each club maintains a calendar for its meetings, preserves its members’ records through the intervening centuries and reserves enough computing capacity to bring the diners back at the same time.

The schedule makes a brief gathering a continuing obligation. A recorded club of 120 members uses 120 experienced hours at each breakfast, or an average of 0.12 experienced hours per calendar year over its thousand-year cycle, while its estate pays throughout the interval to maintain 120 records. The meeting requires capacity for all 120 members at the scheduled hour. Clubs therefore specify simultaneous resumption in their provision agreements; some former working copies have belonged to them.
Clubs served by the Cold Meridian Cooperative had a sitting booked for 11000. During planning for the Eta Carinae intervention, the cooperative opposed a proposed receiving yard whose radiator plan would have increased the demand on its archive cooling capacity. The clubs’ standing mandates required both maintained memories and a simultaneous restart, so an acceptable compensation arrangement had to secure uninterrupted service.
The clubs also appear in accounts of long-term provision. The Interregional Accounts Concordance counts their dormant members separately from experienced hours, while continuity bonds can secure the maintenance and restart capacity promised to former working copies. These measures record different parts of the same arrangement: a breakfast consumes little active time, but its date depends on uninterrupted custody and capacity held in reserve.
A sitting may include a pre-merger reunion, with separate places for a person's saved unmerged version and a transformed continuation. Each diner requires a separate restart and place at the table. Clubs can also book the Second Dawn Repertory, whose computational performers travel as archived states and resume to direct stellar-light programmes. Such a performance must fit into the same one-hour window as the breakfast; its next appearance can be arranged before the audience returns to dormancy.
