Superduperintelligence
✨From tkwa.me
Superduperintelligence is cognitive capability far beyond that of the best unaugmented humans. Under the AI Futures Project definition, the gap between a superduperintelligence and the best humans is twice the gap between the best and median human professionals, across virtually all cognitive tasks. Artificial superduperintelligence is abbreviated ASDI; the broader term also applies to augmented people and biological minds.[1]
Superduperintelligences generally score above 250 on the Epoch Capabilities Index (ECI). They are capable of superpersuasion: with sufficient access and interaction, they can induce any chosen belief or commitment in an unprotected human. Defensive AIs mediate exposure to preserve their clients’ chosen commitments. Persuasion can also be built into their creations, including cuteness-optimized animals whose appearance redirects human attachment so strongly that visitors have abandoned their own children.[2]
Name
On 29 September 2026, Donald Trump directed the United States executive branch to call artificial intelligence “Super Intelligence”. Researchers subsequently adopted superduperintelligence to restore the distinction between AI generally and intellect far beyond human capabilities. The replacement became standard and remained in use for millennia.[3][4]
The older expression superintelligence denialism survived the change, along with superintelligence denialist, as a fixed phrase whose component words had changed their ordinary usage.[4]
